Frankston City Council is looking to support a better parking experience by exploring the exciting benefits of smart parking in the local government area. Council is considering a smart parking trial that will test the effectiveness of smart parking as a possible solution, initially in central Frankston. The smart parking trial would make sure Council is making the best decision for the Frankston community.

What is Smart Parking?

Smart parking combines human innovation and technology to achieve better parking solutions for the community and Council. Smart technology can help make parking safer and more convenient by enhancing our understanding of parking use and demand. It can also support better environmental outcomes by reducing congestion and therefore vehicle emissions.

Where will the Smart Parking Trial be located?

The Smart Parking Trial is proposed to be located around lower Young Street, Wells Street, Thompson Streets and Playne Street.

How can I contribute?

Through the below survey, Council is seeking your input to help decide on the best approach to smart parking in Frankston and will help us understand the areas where our community members would like to see the greatest improvements. Examples of this could be, improved parking availability, reduced congestion, reduced parking search times or higher turnover of parking spaces.

Your feedback will ensure the smart parking trial is targeting solutions that will have the best outcomes for our community.
