Why are we doing this?

What do you think about the future of our household waste?

Thank you for joining our panel and community poll to help decide how Council manages your household waste into the future!

In particular, we are exploring with you whether Council should commit to advanced waste processing in Melbourne’s south-east.

Why are we doing this?

Council is yet to decide whether it will take part in a deal for south-east councils to build an advanced waste processing facility. We are developing ways to reclaim/recycle as much waste from household rubbish bins as possible. The advanced waste processing facility would process what’s left in residential bins, rather than sending it to landfill.

Council is interested in your advice before deciding whether to commit to the facility. The community poll process will help us get that advice.
