  • The ‘Young people’ category is open to photographers who are aged between 12 and 24 years at the time they submit their entry.
  • The 'Professional' category is open to adults over 24 years at the time they submit their entry, who identify as a professional photographer and hold a photography business name.
  • The 'Amateur' category is open to all other adults over 24 years at the time they submit their entry.

Entrants are permitted to submit any number of entries to categories for which they are eligible.

  1. Photographs must be in JPEG (.jpg), PNG or SVG format.

The closing date and time for entries is 11.59pm on Sunday 7 September 2025. No late entries will be accepted.

In submitting a photograph as part of the Competition, the entrant:

  1. Warrants that the photograph is their original work and that they are the copyright owner of the photograph. Each photographer retains copyright of their image(s).
  2. Provides Frankston City Council with a royalty-free, irrevocable, unconditional and exclusive licence under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) to use any photograph submitted for display, archive, publicity and/or promotional purposes.
  3. Acknowledges that the photograph may be used within Council publications, promotional and marketing material, including in videos, catalogues, magazines, newspaper articles, brochures and social media and on Council’s website.
  1. Judging will be undertaken by a panel of four Council staff (representing the Community Engagement Team, Strategic Communications Team, Design and Content Team, and Community Safety Team).
  2. The Panel will select a winner from each of the four categories, representing the best relevance to the category details (provided on each of the following four Engage Frankston pages: Cats in Frankston City, Dogs in Frankston City, Our Frankston City environment, and Animals in Frankston City).
  3. The Panel will considered the number of 'likes' received on the photos, however, this will not guide sole determination of the winner.
  4. Judging will be completed by 5pm on Tuesday 30 September 2025.
  5. An entrant can only win once. In the event that an entrant is selected as winner for two or more categories, the next best winner will receive the second and subsequent prize.
  6. Winners will be notified (including transfer of each $100 Prezzee voucher by email) and published on Engage Frankston by 5pm on Friday 3 October 2025.
