A safer community for all
We're developing a Safe Community Policy and Strategy and have been consulting with our community over the past few months to identify key priorities and areas of focus for community safety and crime prevention over the next 10 years.
Since early 2022, we have spoken to over 300 community members who have shared what the most important safety issues are for them and what Council can do to help create a safe, vibrant and well connected city for everyone.
Targeted engagement with LGBTQIA+ and CALD communities
Community safety affects us all and it is important that we capture a diverse range of experiences.
Our consultation so far has had a wide reach, however we have found some gaps.
To ensure all voices are heard and have the opportunity to contribute their experiences of safety in our community we are reaching out to the LGBTQIA+ community and people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background (CALD) to have their say.
