What is proposed?

The draft Baxter Park Master Plan builds on feedback from sporting clubs and community groups and includes ideas for:

  • Improved car and pedestrian access and movement to and from the reserve with separate car parking, pedestrian crossings and better lighting.
  • Improvements to ovals and pitches, pavilions, spectator areas and training facilities including female friendly facilities.
  • Consolidation and refurbishment of existing tennis courts to multipurpose courts.
  • New district level playground with additional and improved community gathering places, shelters, BBQS and public toilets.
  • Protection and enhancement of remnant bushland vegetation and habitat links, and revegetation around the site.

Frankston council is aware Monash Uni will remove the hockey pitch in '25. Replacement grounds urgently sought; a hybrid hockey/soccer here!
