Engagement Report endorsed by Council

17 August 2022

On 15 August, at its public meeting, Frankston City Council endorsed the Independent Engagement Report developed following our Community Panel and Poll.

The Report is now attached for your review. Thank you to Jen Lilburn (of Kismet Forward) and Steve Blackley (of Steve Blackley Consulting) for facilitating our Community Panel sessions, analysing the outcomes, and preparing the attached report.

In endorsing the report, Council noted the value of this community engagement process, which has now supported Council’s continuing involvement in the South East Metropolitan Advanced Waste Processing project. Council will make a final decision on whether to commit to the project once more details on the procurement (including location, technology and contract terms) are provided to Council (likely late 2022/early 2023).

Thank you also to our Panellists who chose to attend and make a submission at the public Council meeting on 15 August. The discussion during your submissions was very valuable.

We look forward to updating you on Council’s decision relating to the Advanced Waste Processing Project as soon as this is made. We will also update you within the next 2 months of our broader community engagement relating to Council’s Waste Circularity Plan.

We can also confirm that all Panellists who participated in all stages of the Community Panel and Poll have been sent their $50 Prezzee voucher via email. If you have not received this, or have any questions, please contact engagement@frankston.vic.gov.au.
