The aim of the Draft Data Exchange Policy is to facilitate the collection of data and support a proactive release of Council data to our community.

There is an increasing need for local government to provide greater transparency to the community, and one way to do this is through the release and sharing of Council data. This Policy supports Council’s obligation under section 3(2) of the Freedom of Information Act for the proactive release of information.

Council expects to be doing a lot more in the space of sharing its data and wants to put in the right mechanisms to make it accessible and reduce any risks where possible.

How can you get involved?

Tell us below if there's anything missing from the Draft Policy and if you would like to make a formal submission to Council via a submitters meeting.
