About the Project
Willow Park is a small local park located at 9R Willow Road, Frankston. The park is located next to Bayview Pre-School.
The Frankston City Council Play Strategy 2021 recommends creating a welcoming community park with a play space for younger children, park amenity such as seating, drinking fountain and new trees.
In May to June 2022 we asked the community to review draft concept plans for this play space and provide feedback.

Do you like the look and feel of the proposed upgrades at Willow Reserve?
Does the concept plan for Willow Reserve meet your expectations?
Please share any other feedback you may have.
- I want to thank you for making the park more accessible for children with disability. I have twin 5 year olds with cerebral palsy, and one is in a wheelchair. There are no accessible parks in the area and to have one close that all my children can enjoy will be incredible
- Please ensure adequate seating and tables or benches and rubbish bins.
- It would be great if Bayview Preschool also got an update. This upgrade to the park will bring more families to the area meaning more interest for the kinder next door. It is a lovely kinder but is now looking a bit tired and dated.
- Again please no covered area it will detract from the local area and may futrther increase the aldreadt on going issue with drinking and graffiti in the area.
- This upgrade is well overdue and will enhance the local neighbourhood for families as well as enhancing the kinder environment. Thank you.
- Indigenous tree and shrub planting is very important for our local wildlife and the beauty of the area. I hope to see lots of indigenous trees, shrubs and plants when the park is updated.
- A fully fenced park is a must for younger children. Really like the concept of a junior play playground. Ties in well to the adjoining kinder.
- A much needed upgrade. The land has been wasted for many years.
- Cantilever swings that go all directions are much more fun than the ones on A Frames so keep that in your design. Thanks.
- If possible contained fencing with gate at front to stop children running out. Willow Road can be quite busy at peak times.
- Please install security cameras, and please fine people who leave dog poo on playgrounds.
- Great idea. Pls ensure to have sufficient rubbish bins. Also, cameras will be a plus. We live a stone away from this place. We are happy to hear on the upgrade. Tks
- Fantastic that this area is being fixed up from the one swing set and overgrown lawn. Can’t work!
- Please keep the local Tawny Frogmouths happy.
- I love that the fencing will be replaced with new fencing. I would like to see more sunshades and disability toilets as well.
- The concept design make the space look larger than it is. All of that will fit in the space provided but it won’t feel anywhere near as spacious as the plan makes it look. I suggest drawing the equipment more to scale. My 4yo went to Bayview last year. Those swings get used after kinder every day.
- I’d probably skip the metal see saw, you hardly ever see kids playing on them and they’re quite a big risk for the little ones (the amount of children getting their chins hit when one side bounces of the ground is scarily high). Maybe single animal see saws would be better.
- Love it, Lipton drive needs an upgrade too please!
- Love Love Love that there is finally going to be a playground here!!! My kids have been to the Bayview kinder and are still going to the kinder and I have always said it would be lovely if there were an actual play ground here. We live just around the corner so all of my kids are excited about this place. Just one question does the actual play area have to be so close to the road?
Can't wait till its finished.
