Early works commence

24 January 2024

From late 2023 and throughout 2024, Council is undertaking the following early works on Nepean Highway, to support the development of the Nepean Boulevard Vision:

  • Feature and Levels Survey investigation.
  • Vegetation planting.
  • Public lighting improvements - including on Grimwade Clock and Playne Street.
  • Public sculpture and artwork - including a tender process for Mile Bridge Gateway Sculpture.
  • Wayfinding and gateway entry signs.

These early works were outlined in the Community Engagement Report (published in December 2023) following feedback from community members as to the improvements considered most important, and that should be delivered as soon as possible. Council has been working through authority approvals for the above early works, and will deliver the works according to budget, approval and resource availability.

Council is continuing to develop a full Master Plan for the Nepean Boulevard Vision, as per the process outlined on our Engage Frankston page. The draft Master Plan is expected to be released for community feedback in early 2025.
