A new name for a newly redeveloped building

Langwarrin Community Centre has been a key part of the local community since its opening on Lang Road in 1982. Since its establishment, the Community Centre has provided the community with a broad range of programs such as, occasional care, social support activities and room hire for local groups and events.

The Langwarrin Preschool is recognised as the area’s longest standing kindergarten and plays a central role in early childhood education. The Maternal Child Health service is recognised as playing a pivotal role in its service and contribution to the community.

The Langwarrin Community Centre is currently undergoing redevelopment which includes the following:

  • Construction of three kindergarten rooms to welcome the Langwarrin Preschool service
  • Upgraded outdoor pay areas and landscaped surrounds
  • Two dedicated Maternal and child Health consultation rooms
  • Refurbishment of the community hall and meeting spaces

Visit the Langwarrin Community Centre and Early Years Project for further information on the redevelopment project.

As the centre enters a new era with these services being combined, we need to register a formal name for the centre to:

  • Prevent community confusion with the increased services
  • Ensure identity is maintained (the naming proposal was prepared in conjunction with the new tenants)
  • Provide appropriate name of place to reflect services and redevelopment of the new centre.
