A new name for a newly redeveloped building

As part of the Victorian Government’s Kindergarten Reform and Building Blocks Partnership, Frankston City Council is undergoing a redevelopment of the Seaford Maternal and Child Health Centre, located at 41 Railway Parade, Seaford.

Historically, the facility has supported three separate early years and youth services, encompassing Seaford Kindergarten, Seaford Maternal and Child Health and the Seaford Hangout youth service, with no shared infrastructure at the same location.

The Kindergarten Reform and Building Blocks Partnership redevelopment aims to upgrade local infrastructure to meet the future demand for kindergarten programs. The Seaford site was identified due to the ageing infrastructure and opportunity to integrate existing services into a purpose-built facility. The redevelopment of this facility is designed to support improved community access and lifelong connection to community and local service.

The redevelopment includes

  • Demolition of the existing buildings and construction of a new single-storey integrated facility
  • Expansion of the Seaford Kindergarten to provide increased capacity
  • Construction of Maternal and Child Health consultation rooms
  • Redevelopment of the youth space
  • Construction of additional multipurpose room for playgrounds and family education
  • Improved sustainability across the facility

Visit the Seaford Child, Youth & Family Centre Upgrade and Expansion for further information on the redevelopment project.

As the centre enters a new era, we need to register a formal name to go along with it and we want your feedback.

We invited the community to help choose a new name for the redevelopment of the Seaford Maternal and Child Health Centre. This new, purpose-built space will bring together kindergarten, maternal and child health, and youth services under one roof. The name should reflect the centre’s role in supporting families, children, and young people, and its vision for connection and lifelong learning within the Seaford community.
