What will happen in the workshops?

We're inviting community members to nominate as a 'Community Engagement Framework tester', and to meet on three occasions for about two hours each time (six hours total). Meetings can be either online or in-person, depending on the preferences of the group. Some information about what to expect is shared below.
  • Discuss Requirements

Be part of a conversation about what we must do for every community engagement project that uses our framework. In particular we will discuss:

    • Gender impacts on engagement
    • Meeting our engagement principles
    • What else the community expects from engagement
  • Review Options

Consider some example scenarios and discuss how the community engagement framework should be applied. In particular we will discuss:

    • Deciding which projects need a little bit of engagement, and which need more.
    • Understanding what our principles looks like for high, medium and low priority projects.
    • What we should do when engagement doesn't go as planned.
  • Make Recommendations

Develop recommendations for how the community engagement framework can best represent the communities' interest for our highest priority projects. In particular we will discuss:

    • How we can encourage more people to participate in engagement opportunities.
    • What ideas or methods will support people to feel safe and welcome when we engage.
    • If there was no limit, what would amazing community engagement look like.
